Evaluation Consultant for Implementation of DFID-funded Project: Evaluation of the International Growth Centre (IGC). Completed Phase 1 Evaluation and compiled the Zambia Case Study Report.
  • February 2015 – August 2015: Deputy Lead Consultant for “Research and Documentation of Effective Practices on Learning Outcomes in Kenya.” Jointly coordinated by the Learning Outcomes Network (LON) and the Women Educational Researchers of Kenya (WERK), with financial support from the Department of the International Development (DfID) of the United Kingdom, UKAID.
  • 28 July 2015 – 31 July 2015: Lead Consultant for “Training on Monitoring and Evaluating Advocacy and Policy Influence; Using Outcome Harvesting to Document Change; and Using Feedback Mechanisms in Monitoring and Evaluation.Training conducted to Jesuit Hakimani Centre Staff at the Hill Park Hotel, Nairobi, Kenya.
  • February 2015 – December 2015: A member of the Reference Group for “The Joint Systemic Review (JSR) of Gender Equality in Development.” Jointly coordinated by the United Nations Evaluation Group (UNEG), the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) and EvalPartners for the EvalGender+ Programme in celebration of 2015 as the International Year of Evaluation.
  • November 2014 – March 2015: Africa Editorial Board Representative for EvalPartners and International Organization for Cooperation in Evaluation (IOCE), “Guide to Story Development for Evaluations that Make a Difference: Stories from around the World.” Jointly coordinated by EvalPartners and IOCE.
  • September 2014 – November 2014: Lead Consultant for a “Baseline Survey on Child Protection Needs with Specific Focus on the Socio-Economic Situation of Communities in Korogocho Informal Settlement.” Jointly coordinated by Islamic Relief Kenya (IRK) and Youth Initiatives – Kenya (YIKE), with financial support from the Department of the International Development (DfID) of the United Kingdom, UKAID.
  • June 2014 – August 2014: Consultant to review the EvalPartners and International Organization for Cooperation in Evaluation (IOCE), “Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Support Program Small Grant Facility Proposals – 2014 for Voluntary Organizations for Professional Evaluation (VOPEs).” Jointly coordinated by EvalPartners and IOCE, with financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland.
  • April 2014 – June 2014: Co-Consultant and part of the Africa Story Review Team to review the EvalPartners and International Organization for Cooperation in Evaluation (IOCE) submissions for “Evaluations That Make a Difference: Stories from around the World.” Jointly coordinated by EvalPartners and IOCE.
  • March 2014 – May 2014 – Consultant to conduct “A Programme Design of the proposed 4-year Kenya Improved Community Security (KICS) Programme 2014 – 2017 and Development of the M&E Framework.” Consultant in-charge of Monitoring and Evaluation component of the programme design for Coffey International Development, funded by DfID.
  • January 2014 – April 2014 – Lead Consultant to conduct “A Baseline Survey for Strengthening Vocational Training in Kisii County.” Was the Technical Lead in the Survey and Report writing for the assignment coordinated by the Education Enhancement Centre (EEC).

Section 2

  • September 2013 – December 2013 – Consultant to conduct “Final Evaluation of the Gender and Governance Programme (GGP III) in Kenya.” Part of the Joint Programme on Gender Equality and Women Empowerment (JP-GEWE) under a Joint Financing Agreement (JFA) coordinated by UN Women as Programme Financial Management Agent (PFMA).

 

  • June – August 2013 – Consultant to develop “The Strategic Plan 2013 – 2018 for the Think Tank Network in the Eastern Africa Region (TTN-EA) titled – Networking Think Tanks for Sustainable Regional Integration in Eastern Africa.” Consultancy commissioned the African Research and Resource Forum (ARRF) on behalf of TTN-EA and funded by the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF).
  • July 2013 – Consultant as a “Trainer for the Women Educational Researchers of Kenya (WERK) on Action Research” to WERK members and programme implementers for the Opportunity Schools programme for Kenyan Pastoralist Communities. Training workshop held at the Savelberg Retreat Centre from 8 – 10 July 2013.
  • July 2013 – Consultant to conduct “A Gender Analysis of the Protection Against Domestic Violence Bill 2012 to identify existing Gender gaps and make recommendations for bridging the gaps.” Consultancy commissioned by Women’s Political Alliance – Kenya (WPA-K).
  • January 2013 – to date – Editorial Reviewer for the African Evaluation Journal (AEJ), an online publication of the African Evaluation Association (AfREA).
  • September 2012 – December 2013 – Consultant for a Study on Social Movements in Kenya looking at Students Trials and Tribulations in a Turbulent Political Ocean: The Transformation of SONU as a Social Movement over the years. A Study commissioned by the Institute for Development Studies (IDS) of the University of Nairobi and funded by the Ford Foundation.
  • August – October 2012 – Consultant for End of Project Evaluation of Improving Governance of Decentralised Funds in Kenya, a project of the World Vision Kenya (WVK) coordinated by The Institute for Social Accountability (TISA) and Centre for Peace and Democracy (CEPAD) and funded by the European Union (EU).
  • August – September 2012 – Consultant for the One-year Evaluation of the Kenya Transition Initiative (KTI) Eastleigh Component, a project coordinated by Chemonics and funded by USAID Kenya, Office of Transition Initiatives (OTI).
  • July – August 2012 – Lead Consultant to carry out a survey on Electorate Perceptions and Expectations in Kenya’s Electoral Process – 2012: A Case Study of Nyamira County. A Consultancy carried out in partnership with Policy Options.

  • 21 – 22 May 2012 – Rapporteur for the African Research and Resource Forum (ARRF) at a policy forum on East African Monetary Integration: Challenges and Opportunities for Partner States held at the Kibo Palace Hotel in Arusha, Tanzania.
  • 2 – 3 May 2012 – Rapporteur for the African Research and Resource Forum (ARRF) and the East African Community (EAC) Think Tank Network on Sustaining the Network Initiative for Policy Influence at a meeting held at the Imperial Botanical Beach Hotel in Entebbe, Uganda.
  • March – August 2012 – Team Leader for an assignment for the Institute of Policy Analysis and Research on “Monitoring the Security and Police Reforms in Kenya: Perceptions and Expectations from the Key Stakeholders.” Study conducted in five provinces in Kenya namely:  Nyanza, Coast, Nairobi, Rift Valley and North-Eastern.
